Family Sessions — My Approach

Family sessions are designed to feel relaxed, natural and a little bit fun — not like a traditional photoshoot.

I know that not everyone loves having their photo taken, especially children who don't want to sit still and teenagers who might need a little convincing to get involved. That's completely normal.

Rather than forcing anything, I keep things easy-going and gently guide you through the session. We'll start with a few relaxed group photos so you have those to look back on, then move into more natural moments using simple prompts and playful interaction.

Before long, even the most reluctant family members usually relax and often end up enjoying it far more than they expected.

Sessions are all about connection, laughter and those in-between moments, rather than perfect poses.

Most sessions take place in the woods around Branton, which offer a beautiful natural setting, but I'm always happy to travel to a location that's meaningful to your family or more easily accessible — for older family members or those that struggle walking.

These sessions are all about being together — no stiff posing, just natural interaction and genuine memories.

I'll gently guide you into a few relaxed standing and seated poses so you have those timeless images to look back on. From there, the session will be more small silly games to get you interacting and laughing naturally with each other.

Before long, it won't feel like a photoshoot at all — just time spent together, with moments captured as they happen.
